4. Installing R under (Mac) OS X

The `bin/macosx' directory of a CRAN site contains binaries for OS X for a base distribution and a large number of add-on packages from CRAN to run on OS X 10.[567].

The simplest way is to use `R-No value for VERSIONno.pkg': just double-click on the icon. Note that Tcl/Tk and the compilers need to be installed separately if needed.
